Synthetik Software Inc. will introduce its new version of Studio Artist, which the company bills as a “graphic synthesizer.” The new version, 3.0, makes its debut at this week’s Macworld Conference & Expo at booth 2619.
Studio Artist users input a source image or video, which Studio Artist then automatically re-renders as a painted or drawn image. What’s more, it can auto-rotoscope video sequences. The software uses a combination of user-configurable drawing and painting tools along with image processing and video effects. It ships with more than 3,000 factory presets.
The new version is optimized for Mac OS X and Mac OS 9 and includes more than 8 hours of QuickTime-based video tutorials. New features include the Vectorizer raster to vector synthesizer with EPS output capabilities, Modular Synthesized Graphics (MSG) plug-in architecture, live video processing, enhanced animation and improved image processing and Paint Synthesizer functionality.
Studio Artist 3.0 costs US$379. Upgrades from previous versions cost $179. Visit the Web site for details.
