Macromedia Inc. will introduce a new version of the company’s flagship multimedia tool, Director MX 2004. The company is exhibiting at this week’s Macworld Conference & Expo in booth 717. Director enables users to develop multimedia projects suited for the Internet, information kiosks, CDs and DVDs.
Features new to Director MX 2004 include integration with other MX 2004 products, including Macromedia Flash MX 2004, as well as new scripting tools to help developers create interactive elements either using Lingo or JavaScript. New media support has also been added — Director MX 2004 now supports DVD-Video, QuickTime, Macromedia Flash, Windows Media and RealMedia.
Macromedia plans to release Director MX 2004 in February. It will cost US$1,199, or $399 for users of previous versions. The software requires Mac OS X v10.2.6 or higher.
