Thursby Software Systems Inc. has introduced DAVE v5, a new version of its Macintosh software tool that enables them to work more effectively with Microsoft networks.
The new version adds support for Windows Server 2003’s enhanced default network security, which uses NTLMv2 and SMB signing. Thursby President George Colley said his company’s new product is the only SMB product offering on the Mac platform that works with such systems without degrading security.
DAVE v5 works with Mac OS X v10.3, but support has been retained for Mac OS 9 as well. DAVE v5 costs US$119, with educational and institutional licensing available. Upgrades from previous versions cost $69.95
