Many look at
unique JBL Creature speakers and think they’re seeing something that wouldn’t be out of place in a science-fiction movie. In that vein, the company announced a sequel on Tuesday: JBL Creature II, which incorporates the latest Odyssey transducer technology and a proprietary design. Like the original, JBL Creature II’s satellite speakers glow from the bottom for an otherworldly appearance.
While they were at it, Harman also revealed Harman Kardon SoundSticks II, which they’ve now outfitted with computer-optimized audio technology, “capacitance touch” volume control, and analog connectivity. The new speakers sport 10-watt satellites and a 20-watt subwoofer, which produces bass response down to 44Hz. The satellite towers also contain four Odyssey transducers.
JBL Creature II speakers come with a suggested retail price of US$99.95 while the new SoundSticks II will set you back $199.95. Both are compatible with desktop and laptop Macs as well as MP3 players, stereos, game consoles, and anything else that needs a good pair of speakers.
