During Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ Macworld Conference & Expo keynote address, he noted two important milestones: 2 million iPods and 30 million iTunes Music Store songs have been sold since both were announced.
“By enabling music lovers to carry their entire music library with them at all times,” Jobs said, “iPod is clearly changing the way we enjoy our music, much the way the Sony Walkman did decades ago.”
Jobs also detailed a promotional deal with Pepsi during which 100 million songs will be given away starting February 1 and ending 60 days later. A Super Bowl ad will get the ball rolling. With that and the announcement that iPod mini is coming next month, Apple’s CEO will likely have new milestones to report at the next Macworld Expo.
