On Wednesday, Portland, Ore.-based developers You Software added to their growing “You” line of utilities with You Synchronize, which allows quick and easy synchronization of files and folders across laptops, desktops, and servers. It’s actually a major upgrade to ExecutiveSync, which You Software acquired the rights to recently.
The company notes that You Synchronize runs up to eight times faster than ExecutiveSync and offers a better user interface as well as a variety of new features, including detailed history reporting, support for long file names as well as Unicode file and folder names, and synchronization of an unlimited number of files. You Software also says that You Synchronize is the only file synchronization application on the Mac to accurately support file synching to Microsoft Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows.NET servers running Microsoft Services for Macintosh.
“We aren’t stopping here,” said Craig Barnes, CEO of You Software. “Our product roadmap is focused on developing new products that bring You Software productivity improvements to cross-platform multi-seat environments.”
You Synchronize requires Mac OS X v.10.2.4 or higher and is available now for US$49.95. ExecutiveSync users who purchased it before December 7, 2003 can upgrade for $29.00. ExecutiveSync users who purchased their copy of ExecutiveSync on or after December 7, 2003 are entitled to a free upgrade with proof of purchase. You can pick up You Synchronize at the You Software booth (#2323) at Macworld Conference & Expo.
