With digital cameras firmly in the mainstream and the price of the technology falling all the time, it’s not a surprise to see this: Concord Camera Corp. announced that it’s now shipping the Concord Eye-Q 4360z, a 4 Megapixel digital camera that features 3x optical zoom, for US$199.
The new camera also offers 6x digital zoom, exposure and white balance control, continuous shooting mode, a 10-second timer, and the ability to shoot AVI video at 30 frames per second, with optional sound. It runs on two rechargeable NiMH AA batteries, which are included with a four battery charger, and a power meter on its 1.5-inch TFT LCD screen that lets you know when your juice is running low. It comes with 16MB of internal memory but also has an SD card slot.
On the high end, the Concord Eye-Q 4360z produces images at 2272 x 1704 resolution. Picture size can be scaled down to 3.1 Megapixels (2048 x 1536), 2 Megapixels (1600 x 1200), 1.2 Megapixels (1280 x 960), or VGA (640 x 480) to get more shots in memory. The camera connects to your Mac with a USB cable, which is included, and works with Mac OS 9 or higher. It also comes with a TV cable, a wrist strap, and a pouch.
