Michael Tsai has updated his spam filtering software SpamSieve to v2.1.1. The new version is available for download now, and is a free update for registered users.
SpamSieve enables users of popular Mac OS X e-mail client software to add Bayesian filtering. SpamSieve dumps the offending mail into a separate directory, removed from your inbox, to make it easier to for you to capture and view potential unsolicited commercial e-mail. You can train SpamSieve to view certain e-mail as good or bad, build a whitelist and much more. SpamSieve works with Apple Mail, Emailer, Entourage, Eudora 5.2, Mailsmith (in fact, it’s bundled with recent versions) and PowerMail.
The developer claims the new version of SpamSieve is much faster at message processing when there are many blocklist and whitelist rules. Accuracy tracking with Panther Mail has been improved; catching spam is better; bugs have been fixed; and more. You can read about what’s changed in the online manual.
SpamSieve is available as a 30-day or 20-launch demo. If you like what you see (or don’t see, as the case may be), SpamSieve costs US$25 to register.
