Yi.magination Studios has announced that it’s almost finished with Comixware v2.0, a major new release of its storytelling software that combines multimedia presentation and editing.
Comixware features a timeline-based interface that enables you to put together your story using your own graphic and multimedia assets including MP3 files for the soundtrack. It’s aimed at professional filmmakers and families alike.
The new version of Comixware features native Mac OS X support, in addition to retaining support for Mac OS 8.x or higher. Comixware’s user interface has also been streamlined to enable users to perform more tasks by Drag & Drop and through mouse clicks.
Comixware v2.0 also includes expanded file compatibility, with support for most popular video, bitmap and audio formats. User file sharing is new to v2.0, with the ability to share media in the Internet-based Comixware Gallery. You can also define scene length regardless of its original length or nature. Cut, copy, paste and insert commands have been added to the Compose section. Users can select multiple objects or scenes.
Comixware v2.0 is in final beta testing now and is anticipated for release in late February. It will cost US$39.99 for the download version or $44.99 for the CD-ROM version.
