Interested in meeting one of Aspyr Studios’ crack team of Mac game developers? Brad Oliver is planning on making a speaking appearance at the Apple Store Biltmore in Phoenix, Ariz. on Saturday, January 17, at 1PM.
Oliver is more than just an Aspyr employee. He’s a long-time Mac game developer who worked for years for Westlake Interactive, where he was responsible for porting some of Mac gaming’s most successful commercial properties. Brad Oliver is also the driving force behind development of MacMAME, the Macintosh version of the multiplatform arcade game emulation project whose goal is to keep the era of classic video games alive by continuing to develop technology that allows these old games to work.
If circumstances permit, Oliver is also planning on showing off Medal of Honor: Breakthrough, the new expansion pack for Medal of Honor just announced by Aspyr last week at Macworld Conference & Expo. Oliver said it’s the first time anyone outside of Aspyr will have seen the software run.
If you need more of an incentive, Oliver — who’s a huge Star Wars fan himself — is bringing a copy of Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy that he’ll give away to one lucky audience member. Oliver ported the game for Aspyr, which recently began shipping.
