United Developers is celebrating its fourth anniversary this month and its subsidiary MacPlay is serving up a few new releases this month and is also offering some deals to celebrate the anniversary. New releases include the Mac version of Activision Anthology and several new casual games.
Activision Anthology: Remix Edition saw its PC release late last year through another United developers subsidiary called Mumbojumbo, and now it’s available for the Mac. Activision Anthology collects more than 75 classic games originally released by Activision for the venerable Atari 2600 video game console. The Remix Edition adds more games and more music from that era as well, all in an interface that will make you feel that you’re back in your room circa 1982.
MacPlay has teamed up with mobile games developer Jamdat Games to bring a series of titles to the Mac and PC. Those efforts include Kasparov Chessmate, a new chess game featuring the legendary Garry Kasparov, as well as a new mahjong game called The Emperor’s Mahjong, featuring 72 layouts, 6 themes, 3 difficulty levels and an editor. Casino game enthusiasts will enjoy Hard Rock Casino, which includes craps, slots, blackjack, roulette, keno and more, all in the glitzy and fun Hard Rock Casino environment.
