MaxGaming Technologies’ Dark Horizons: Lore continues its way towards release. It’s a new first person shooter set in a realm of giant robots (often known to their fans as “mecha”), and it’s coming to Mac OS X, Windows and Linux alike later this quarter, through GarageGames. Now you can try it yourself if you’re willing to help the developers “stress test” the game on its way to completion.
Dark Horizons: Lore puts players in the remote cockpits of one of six different Mechanized Assault Vehicles — MAVs. Each MAV is outfitted with the latest weapons technology, like plasma rifles, cannons and missiles. The game is set in the future, during a period of time when The Federated States square off against the Eastern Confederation for total domination of a resource-rich area known as No Man’s Land. You can either pilot a single MAV yourself or take command of a MAV group. You can also join a battalion and fight alongside your allies as a unit.
Dark Horizons: Lore is already well on its way towards release. In fact, a closed group of beta testers has been shaking the game down for the past couple of months. One key component to Dark Horizons: Lore is the concept that the players’ own statistics will affect the outcome of the war and will write the future history of the Dark Horizons universe. That’s why stress-testing the stats component of the game is so important to MaxGaming Technologies, and that’s why players are being invited to give the game a try themselves.
Gamers interested in giving Dark Horizons: Lore a try are encouraged to download a copy now, using Ignition Code RAYR-R46W-KZ4Z-Z6CW to register their version. The beta version will be enabled until the end of the testing period.
