The Mac-only online game finding and chat service GameRanger was updated to a new version today. Existing GameRanger users will have their versions automatically updated the next time they connect to the service.
GameRanger provides a way for Mac gamers to find each other online and join or host online games, as well as chat with each other between games. The software also provides connectivity to tracking services for popular PC and Mac games. GameRanger is available in two versions: A free basic version and a premium version that adds in-voice communication, buddy list support and many other features.
The new version of GameRanger adds iChat status support for Premium users — it will now set an Away status message and icon when they’re in a game. Several changes have also been made to the way private messages in GameRanger work; expiration and renewal reminder info has been added for Premium members; bugs have been fixed and more.
