Morrison SoftDesign recently announced the release of Font Doctor 6.0, which offers optimization for Mac OS X v.10.3 (Panther), a simpler user interface, resolution of crashes that happened upon start-up, faster diagnosis and repair of your fonts, and enhanced organizational functions.
FontDoctor performs a check-up on your font folders and rectifies common ailments, including missing PostScript fonts and bitmaps, corrupt or damaged fonts, ID conflicts, extra font sizes, mixed font types, and more. The application also converts Windows fonts to Macintosh (and vice-versa) and prints font sample sheets. Its organization feature allows you to sort your fonts by name, family name, or other ways, and clean them up.
The upgrade to version 6.0 is free if you’ve bought an earlier edition within the last 30 days; otherwise, it’s US$19.99. A single-user license is $69.99 while a site license is $350. You can also buy a bundle with Morrison’s FontXpress for $119.99.
