Actual Technologies announced on Wednesday that version 1.1 of their Actual ODBC Driver for Microsoft SQL Server is now ready for download. The new driver adds access to Sybase databases residing on any platform supported by Sybase — including Mac, Linux, Solaris, or Windows — as well as support for FileMaker Pro.
Jonathan Monroe of Actual Technologies notes that you can now use FileMaker Pro and Microsoft Excel to build SQL Server and Sybase database queries, which he says “is an important step in our goal to help Mac OS X users gain access to enterprise data on equal standing with their Windows-using counterparts.”
Actual ODBC Driver for MS SQL Server 1.1 is available now for download. The evaluation version has all features turned on, except for a limit of 3 rows of data returned from any query. A single-user license is US$29.95.
