Dantz announced on Wednesday that a driver update is now available for Retrospect 5.1, their application for backing up data from computers running Mac OS 9.
The update adds support for the Apple-branded Panasonic SuperDrive (UJ-816) and improves support for Toshiba’s Combo drive (SD-R2002), Benchmark VS640 Autoloader, and HP SureStore 1/8 VS80 autoloader.
In addition, it allows Retrospect 5.1 to work with Retrospect 6.0 client software — Retrospect 5.1 is actually included with the new Retrospect 6.0 that just became available, expressly for users of Mac OS 9 (Retrospect 6.0 runs in Mac OS X only). You can download the new driver from the Dantz Web site, where you’ll also find instructions for installing it.
