Nebraska-based developer MindVision Software announced on Thursday the release of FileStorm 1.7 and FileStorm Pro 1.7 for Mac OS X. The former allows you to create disk image files (.dmg) while the latter does that and helps you build software installers. The update is free for registered owners of either application.
Changes in the new version include hiding the disk image’s toolbar and adding a transparent scrollbar to maintain compatibility between Mac OS X v.10.2 (Jaguar) and v.10.3 (Panther), improvements to the handling of text files for license agreements, several bug fixes, and more.
FileStorm Pro 1.7 includes the above as well as localization of installers, a Select All button in the Uninstaller, and an installer problem that required pressing the Return key twice to continue the install, if the Next button was the default and a license agreement or a read me was the first item.
Finally, both applications now require Jaguar or Panther, although the disk images and installers they produce are still compatible with Mac OS X v.10.1.
You can download a demo with limited functions from the MindVision Web site. A license is US$19.95 for FileStorm, $79.95 for the Pro edition, and $59.95 to upgrade from regular to Pro.
