Ambrosia Software Inc. on Tuesday introduced Snapz Pro X v2.0, a new version of the screen and video capture utility. The new version sports dramatically improved performance in capturing video and other changes as well.
Snapz Pro X serves as a replacement for Apple’s own Grab utility — it’s used to capture individual screenshots, series of screenshots, or video. Images can be saved in .bmp, .pict, .gif, .jpg, .png, .tiff, .pdf and Photoshop formats, with control over image compression. Video can be saved in QuickTime format.
Ambrosia said that Snapz Pro X 2.0 can now capture full-screen video considerably faster than its predecessor as well as the competition. Other new features include interface enhancements and a “Live Preview” function that enables users to examine and edit the screenshot they’re taking before saving to disk.
Snapz Pro X 2.0 costs US$69; upgrades from Snapz Pro X 1.0 with movie capture are $20.
