Apple noted Tuesday plans to open a retail store in San Francisco, Calif. on Saturday, February 28. The store will open at 10AM Pacific Time. The Apple Store San Francisco will be Apple’s fifth flagship retail location, joining other stores in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Tokyo, Japan.
Apple’s retail stores provide a showcase for how Macintosh hardware and software works together. Most of the locations feature not only plenty of Macs as well as loads of third-party hardware and software, but “Genius Bars” where people with questions can get them answered and a theater area where pros offer training and seminars to help Mac users get the most out of their systems.
Apple has opened 75 locations since starting its retail store initiative almost three years ago. The company has opened locations nationwide, including six other locations in the Bay Area: Burlingame, Corte Madera, Emeryville, Palo Alto, Santa Clara and Walnut Creek. The company said that nearly 30 million visitors have come to the stores since they were first opened.
Apple’s San Francisco location is at One Stockton Street, at the corner of Ellis Street and Stockton Street, near Union Square.
