Neon Software Inc. has released LANsurveyor for Mac OS v8.0, a new version of their network management software. LANsurveyor was developed to help IT personnel diagram their networks and monitor key components, as well as remotely manage systems, create asset reports and troubleshoot network problems.
New features in LANsurveyor 8 include support for Mac OS X v10.3 “Panther;” the ability to diagram and report managed switch or hub ports; improved hardware and software asset management and reports; Neon Responders that now support StuffIt .sit archive distribution; and multiple SNMP community string support.
LANsurveyor 8 costs US$495 to $9,995 depending on the scale of installation. Upgrades from previous versions start at $199. Upgrades for installations purchased since January 1, 2004 are free.
