Now Software on Wednesday announced that the newest version of their calendar and contact manager Now Up-To-Date & Contact (NUDC) adds support for Rendezvous networking. The new 4.5.2 release is a free update for registered users.
Rendezvous is Apple’s terminology for “zeroconf,” an open standard that provides TCP/IP-compatible network devices to automatically connect to each other. It was first introduced with Mac OS X v10.2 “Jaguar” and has seen increased adoption amongst hardware and software developers since then.
NUDC’s implementation of Rendezvous support allows the software to connect and configure with network servers, synchronizing calendar and contact data. The new release also adds support for Apple’s Xserve G5, the latest version of Apple’s rack-mount server, now featuring the same type of processor that is used by the Power Mac G5. The update supports iPods under Mac OS X, as well.
Now Software said that NUDC 4.5.2 also includes stability enhancements, scroll wheel mouse support and better calendar banner display.
NUDC 4.5.2 costs US$129.95 for the boxed version or $119.95 to download. Volume licensing is available.
