Information Appliance Associates has announced the release of PocketMac iPod Edition, a new data synchronization tool for iPod users that provides the ability to sync more information than iSync can do.
In addition to music, iPods can share Address Book contact and iCal calendar information — even notes — with a host Macintosh, but PocketMac iPod Edition also provides the ability to convert and copy data from Microsoft Entourage, including contacts, calendar, tasks, notes and e-mail — all using iSync as the bridge between the two. The software also converts and copies text, RTF, PDF and Microsoft Word documents to the iPod’s own Notes viewer.
Information Appliance Associates also makes PocketMac, a data synchronization tool that enables Mac users to exchange information with PocketPC-based PDAs.
What’s more, PocketMac iPod Edition is available to Mac and Windows users alike. It requires iTunes 4.x and Mac OS X v10.2.6 or higher, as well as Entourage 10.1.4. Windows users need Windows XP or 2000, iTunes 4.x and Outlook 2000 or better. All iPod models are supported. PocketMac iPod Edition costs US$23.41.
