Santa Ana, Calif.-based developer Markzware announced on Monday that the latest release of its prepress workflow management tool, FlightCheck Workflow 3.1, is now compatible with Mac OS X. Other new features include support for QuarkXPress 6, Macromedia FreeHand MX 11, and Microsoft’s Publisher, Word, and PowerPoint applications, as well as a faster scripting engine and more extensive PDF checking.
FlightCheck Workflow, which was formerly known as MarkzScout, is aimed at those who need to deal with thousands of e-files headed for the printer. You can use it to create an automatic task management process that sorts, filters, categorizes, and routes files based on their internal elements. It comes with over 300 predefined rules and scripts that you can use to automate tasks and create workflows that range from simple to complex.
You can also integrate it with Markzware’s FlightCheck Professional and FlightCheck Online, employing TrueFile Specification, to manage job tickets and supply crucial information to resource planning, billing, and other data management needs. Markzware also released a maintenance update to FlightCheck Professional that detects images in Adobe Illustrator EPS files and PDFs in QuarkXPress 6 files, as well as the addition of AppleEvent and AppleScript support.
FlightCheck Workflow’s system requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2.x (Jaguar) and Mac OS 9.x or higher, 50MB free hard drive space, 128MB RAM, and a G3 or faster processor. Contact Markzware for pricing information.
