Barcode hardware and software developer Intelli Innovations, Inc. announced on Wednesday the release of Barcode Automator 2.0, which adds support for the EPS-to-PDF conversion feature found in Mac OS X v10.3 “Panther,” integration with Adobe’s Creative Suite applications, and more.
“Barcode Automator, together with its sister product Barcode Producer, represent the gold standard in barcode creation solutions for the Mac,” said Intelli Innovations CTO Paul Scandariato.
Integration of Panther’s EPS-to-PDF ability allows you to open vector barcodes in Preview and see a PDF version of the symbology. Those vector barcodes can also now instantly be used in Adobe Photoshop CS, Illustrator CS, and InDesign CS. In addition, Barcode Automator 2.0 features a JPEG barcode image exporter for those who want to use it with Mac-hosted Web sites and AppleScript ACGI scripts, support for 2- and 5-digit barcode addendums that allow for the inclusion of price codes in multiple currencies, and a new, customizable output font option that allows you to select the font used in the human readable portion of the finished output.
Intelli Innovations also included support for Interleaved 2 of 5 (I2of5) barcode generation, a symbology used in industrial applications, and redesigned Code 39 and Code 128 barcode generators that allow you to remove the text caption beneath a barcode and alter the white space around it. There’s also a new Mac OS X toolbar for quick access to common functions.
System requirements call for Mac OS 9.1 or Mac OS X v10.2 “Jaguar” or higher. You can purchase Barcode Automator 2.0 as a download or on CD-ROM for US$499 for a single user license, with a two-pack costing $898 and a site license running $1,699. An upgrade from version 1.x will cost you $189.
