This tax season, you’ll be able to order your accountant around. If your accountant is Quicken 2004, Turbo Tax 2003, or TaxCut 2003, that is. MacSpeech announced recently that it has released iListen ScriptPaks for all three applications. They feature dozens of voice commands that allow you to verbally control the most important functions in each application.
iListen features a vocabulary of over 330,000 words that was developed with Oxford University; it ensures that the application will be able to understand your commands. It also offers the ability to store multiple voice profiles for different users, hands-free correction, macro and AppleScript capabilities, and more.
MacSpeech offers a wide variety of ScriptPaks that extend iListen’s functionality to everything from iLife to iChat to Microsoft Word X and more. With the ScriptPaks for Quicken 2004, Turbo Tax 2003, or TaxCut 2003, you’ll be able to add new transactions, delete unneeded entries, access calculators, reconcile your accounts, and more without touching your mouse or keyboard.
The three new ScriptPaks sell for US$10 each as downloads from the MacSpeech online store. You’ll need iListen 1.6.4, which is a free update for users of iListen 1.5 or higher, and Mac OS X v.10.3 “Panther.” Purchases of five or more ScriptPaks earn a 40 percent discount on the entire order.
