Last month MacCentral brought readers news about the closure of Willow Design, a manufacturer of custom carrying cases and bags for a wide variety of Mac models.
At the time the company had indicated it would close its doors by the end of February, but according to company President Nigel Peck, the company is going to stay open for a few more weeks to fulfill last-minute orders. The final sale notice last month rallied more than 1,300 last-minute orders, including many from long-time customers who wanted to stock up on one last set of Willow Design-made cases.
“I have been going flat out (sixteen hours a day) since announcing our close,” Peck told MacCentral. “I will probably continue to go at this pace until we do close — realistically sometime between the first week of April to maybe even the end of April depending on how many orders come in — we have been getting more and more corporate orders from long time customers wanting one last set of cases.”
Peck said that until March 10 the company will take new orders, then their effort will turn to finishing off cases. “Orders that can be supplied from existing stock will be filled, but nothing new will be started,” Peck added.
Peck said that the warm wishes and responses from Willow customers following last month’s news were “validation of the quality we built into our cases and our service.”
“Everyone is very proud of what we make, and having commentaries from around the world has really meant a lot to everyone,” Peck said.
