TikiMac, a new company with a propensity for such off-beat peripherals as a FireWire 400 hub that resembles Godzilla and FireWire cables that glow, recently shipped their Devil Duckie flash drives. They’re sure to draw attention when you show up at a business meeting with your presentation loaded on one.
The 4.5-inch long red rubber ducks feature black horns on their heads, demonic red eyes that blink as their internal hard drives read and write data, and a rear-end port compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1. They’re available as pre-formatted Mac OS or DOS/FAT drives; they’re plug-and-play when used with Mac OS X v.10.1.2 or 9.2.1 or higher. You can plug them directly into your Mac or use the included six-foot cable to access hard-to-reach USB ports.
Devil Duckie flash drives come in 128MB, 256MB, and 512MB sizes, with prices starting at US$71. They come with a two-year limited warranty. Despite their appearance, TikiMac doesn’t recommend using them in the bath tub.
