German developer Xnet Communications announced on Tuesday that Captain FTP 3.2 — the latest version of the company’s FTP/SSL-FTP/SFTP Client for Mac — is now available. The company is distributing the update, which is optimized for use with Mac OS X v.10.3 “Panther,” only through VersionTracke r and MacUpdate.
Captain FTP 3.2 offers such new features as the ability to work from a command line if desired; a progress bar visible in the Dock when the application’s windows are minimized; new connection methods for proxy/firewall server log-ins; improved integration with Rendezvous through the addition of domain and IP address columns; automatic connection to a favorite server on start-up; a user-defined number of auto-reconnect attempts; and more.
This is a free update for all Captain FTP 3.x license key holders. You can upgrade from any version of Captain FTP 2 for US$15, while the full version of the new application is $25.
