Apple’s subscription-based .Mac service has been updated with a new deal and some information for subscribers, including a discount on Pangea Software’s just-released 3D action game Nanosaur II: Hatchling.
For a limited time, .Mac subscribers can get 25 percent off Nanosaur II: Hatchling. Normally US$24.95, .Mac subscribers can purchase the download version for $18.75. If you’d like a copy on CD-ROM (along with two pairs of red/cyan anaglyph glasses), that’ll cost $26.25 (as opposed to the regular $34.95 price). The deal runs until May 19, 2004.
Nanosaur is available to .Mac users in two download versions — there’s a 33.6MB “basic” Nanosaur trial that will give you a taste of the full game, or an “expanded” version that runs 93.9MB.
Other new additions to the .Mac homepage include exclusive training for Mac OS X v10.3 “Panther.” .Mac subscribers can now access more than 100 QuickTime movies that show various uses for Panther and the applications included within. The training is offered in two courses: Mac OS X Fundamentals and Mac OS X Daily Productivity.
What’s more, .Mac now offers some helpful tips for subscribers who want to build their own HomePage using third party HTML editing software, rather than the built-in HomePage capabilities. Information posted to the .Mac homepage describes where to copy the files you’ve created, how to organize pages into multiple sites and some other helpful hints.
