IDG World Expo on Monday will announce several speakers and events that will headline this summer’s Macworld Conference & Expo to be held in Boston. The original Macintosh design team will headline this year’s summer show, followed by presentations from photojournalist Rick Smolan and the MacBrainiac Challenge.
Hosted by David Pogue, the feature presentation, dubbed “The Macintosh at 20 — A Celebration of 20 Years of Innovation,” will feature a panel of the original Mac designers Jef Raskin, Andy Hertzfeld, Bill Atkinson and Jerry Mannock, who will share anecdotes and perspectives on the development of the Macintosh.
The opening presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, July 13 at 10:00 am.
Photojournalist Rick Smolan will deliver his feature presentation on Wednesday July 13 at 10:00 am. Smolan is best known for his Day in the Life and America 24/7 projects.
Macworld Boston will also see the return of the MacBrainiac Challenge, a geek trivia contest hosted by Macworld contributing editor Chris Breen. Team captains this year will be by Andy Ihnatko, columnist for Chicago Sun-Times and Macworld, and Peter Cohen, senior editor of MacCentral. The MacBrainiac Challenge will take place on Wednesday, July 14 at 3:00 pm.
Macworld, MacCentral and IDG World Expo are all owned by IDG.
