Late on Monday Apple released Mac OS X v10.3.3, the latest revision to its “Panther” operating system that rolled a number of improvements into a single update. One of those changes is an update that adjusts fan control on Power Mac G5 systems. Apple now offers the fan control update separately for owners of Power Mac G5 systems that are still running Mac OS X v10.2, “Jaguar.”
The update “improves performance and reliability of the Fan Control system of the Power Mac G5,” according to Apple, providing the same functionality as what’s incorporated into the Mac OS X v10.3.3 release. This version, however, supports Mac OS X v10.2.7 and Mac OS X 10.2.8 on Power Mac G5 systems.
The update measures 1MB and supports English and various foreign languages. For more details, visit Apple’s Web site.
