Over at the Macintosh User Group (MUG) Center Web site, editor-in-chief Chuck Joiner kicks off this week’s coverage with another User Group Report, which is available in streaming QuickTime or as a downloadable MP3. Joiner’s latest report features interviews with Your Mac Life co-host Sly, who discusses her role on the show, among other topics; Gold Coast Macintosh Users Group’s Esver Camacho, who offers an update on his group’s activities; Mike Williams, who covers the Make-A-Mo vie event that the Winona State University Macintosh Users Group will hold on April 1; and Raul Salazar of the South Florida Java Users Group, who explains his role as organizer of the TechGalaxy Conference.
Winona State University MUG’s Make-A-Movie event will feature US$650 in prizes donated by Apple. Judges will award prizes to a winner and a runner-up in the Most Innovative Use of Technology, Most Original Concept, and Best Storyline categories. If you want to enter, though, you better hurry: all entries are due by March 18.
In addition, the latest news on the MUG Center offers recaps of the latest Boston Macintosh Users Group (BMac) and Hershey Apple Core get-togethers. BMac’s meeting featured an exclusive preview of what you can expect on the conference tracks at Macworld Expo Boston in July. Over at Hershey Apple Core, dealmac editor-in-chief Dan de Grandpre covered the history of his business, his site’s expansion since the early days of the Web, and more.
Finally, Joiner suggests that you take a look at the MUG Center’s Surfboard if you want to peruse a list of active user groups around the world, broken down by geography. You can also visit Apple’s user group page to learn more about user groups in general and find one near you.
