Native Instruments and Stanton Magnetics have announced a new release of Traktor FinalScratch (Traktor FS). The new release, 1.5.1, is available for ordering online.
Traktor FS, in conjunction with Stanton’s FinalScratch, allow DJs to use and mix digital music libraries on their Macs or PCs using a DJ turntable as their interface. The system works through special vinyl records, an interface called the Scratch Amp, and the software.
This new release of Traktor FS gains optimizations and stability improvements when working under Mac OS X v10.3, “Panther.” The previous version required Mac OS X v10.2.6 or higher. Also new to this release is the “Key Correct” function, a capability that enables DJs to change tempo while preserving the original pitch of the track. It’s technology also found in Native Instruments’ Traktor DJ Studio v2.5. A customizable user interface and enhanced audio track visualization round out this new release.
Traktor FS 1.5.1 is available to all FinalScratch users for US$49 as a download or $69 on CD-ROM. Customers who bought the FinalScratch package after January 1, 2004 can download the update for free or get a CD for $19.
