Apple has made version 5.2.3 of WebObjects, their Java server application development and deployment tool, available through a download that shows up in Software Update. There are two mutually exclusive updates, one for WebObjects Developer and one for WebObjects Deployment. The correct one will appear depending on which you have installed; you don’t need both. If you’d rather download the update manually, you can do so through a Knowledge Base article found on Apple’s support site.
This update fixes a number of issues, including incompatibilities between WebObjects and the latest versions of Mac OS X, Xcode, and Java, improper handling of certain cookies, deadlocks that occurred when some EnterpriseObjects were being finalized and locked, potential socket leaking by the Monitor when adding new hosts, and more.
WebObjects 5.2.3 Developer requires Mac OS X v.10.3.3 “Panther,” Xcode 1.1 Developer tools, and Java 1.4.2. If you don’t have the correct version of either Mac OS X or Developer Tools, you need to upgrade them before installing the 5.2.3 update; both are also available through Software Update.
