Advanced Media Group (AMG) recently added to its catalog of digital music samples with three collections of Apple Loops — Bollywood Dreams, Norman Cook: Skip to My Loops, and Vince Clarke: Lucky Bastard — as well as a SynthPack containing 154 vintage synth instruments for GarageBand. Apple Loop tracks are compatible with Apple’s GarageBand and Soundtrack applications, as well as Emagic’s Logic.
Bollywood Dreams features 327 loops by Sumeet Chopra. You get 234 percussion loops, 42 instrument loops, 48 ensemble loops, and 3 vocal hooks, all a mixture of Eastern and Western influences.
Norman Cook: Skip to My Loops is a collection of DJ samples by Norman Cook, also known as Fatboy Slim. It’s full of dance remixes of the type often heard in clubs with live DJs, and it also includes guitar, reggae, flute, and other bonus samples that you can throw into the mix.
Vince Clarke was one of the founding members of Depeche Mode, and his Lucky Bastard collection features a wide variety of classic analog synthesizers, including Roland System 100, various Moogs, Korg Poly Fusion, and more. It also offers many synthesized drum loops, which can be broken down into distinct elements for easier mixing and matching of certain beats.
Synth fans will also want to check out SynthPack for GarageBand, which also features a variety of classic synthesizer instruments. You get 37 basses, 25 effects sounds, 5 strings, 5 brass instruments, 10 leads, 36 pads, 10 sequence Noizs, 3 organs, 9 choirs, and 14 miscellaneous sounds.
All four collections run US$54 each.
