Apple’s Games site has been updated with a new feature that looks in depth at The Riddle of the Sphinx II: The Omega Stone, a new “Myst-like” graphical adventure game puzzler that was recently released for Mac OS X by The Adventure Company and TransGaming Technologies.
The Omega Stone picks up the story of the first game, in which you and a noted archaeologist uncover the famed Ark of the Covenant. You and your colleague are deciphering an ancient scroll when you learn of an artifact called The Omega Stone — solving its riddle is crucial to avoiding a cataclysm that’s been foretold by the ancient text.
The Omega Stone uses a pre-rendered 3D environment featuring the ability to turn 360 degrees and look around your environment. You can interact with your environment and must solve puzzles to proceed as you seek six discs that are connected to the Omega Stone. The game features environments that were modeled after real-life locations that the Pyramids at Giza, Chichen Itza, Stonehenge, Easter Island and more.
