Freeverse Software on Friday noted that its word game X-Words Deluxe is now shipping in a retail box form to stores through North America. The boxed version combines X-Words Deluxe with another popular Freeverse word game — CrossCards.
X-Words Deluxe enables one to four players to take turns creating words on a board. It’s described by the developer as similar to Scrabble or Upwords — players land on special multiplier squares for additional points, and players can design their own boards.
X-Words features multiplayer gaming against the computer or online against other players using Freeverse’s own online game matching service, GameSmith.
X-Words Deluxe costs US$29.95. System requirements call for Mac OS X or Mac OS 8.6 or higher, 12MB RAM, 20MB hard disk space.
