Printing digital photos while on the go became easier on Wednesday with Canon’s introduction of the CP-220 and CP-330 compact photo printers. Both compact devices are capable of producing color prints in one of three sizes, including 4-inch by 8-inch, while connected directly to a digital camera or to a computer via USB.
Both printers also feature enhanced PictBridge support that not only allows direct printing from a PictBridge-compatible digital camera but also new Automatic Dynamic Range Correction technology that automatically improves the brightness or contrast of your photos.
A 4-inch by 6-inch paper tray comes with both printers, while the credit card size tray is an optional accessory. The CP-330 and the CP-220 also include power adapters, but the CP-330 package has a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery pack that delivers up to 90 minutes of use.
Canon expects to shop the CP-330 and CP-220 in April and May for US$279 and $179, respectively. The drivers for both printers work with Mac OS 9.0 to 9.2 as well as Mac OS X v.10.1 and higher. As MacCentral posted this article, product pages were not yet available on the Canon Web site.
