San Francisco, Calif.-based casual game maker Skunk Studios has released their latest game, Varmintz Deluxe. You can download it from their Web site now. It costs US$20 to register.
A “hop and dodge”-style action game, Varmintz Deluxe plays a bit like the classic coin-op game Frogger, with a twist. You help guide five different “Varmintz” — a collection of raccoons — through scrolling levels in search of Golden Eggs. They’ll have to avoid enemies like rabid dogs, lumberjacks, cowboys, joggers and skateboarders as they make their way through each level, hopping across roadways, rivers and past other pitfalls.
Varmintz Deluxe is something of a departure for Skunk Studios. Outside of the company’s bowling game Gutterball, Skunk’s product line mainly consists of puzzle and word games with action elements. Varmintz Deluxe is more of an action game. Like other Skunk products, the game features the ability to share your scores with the world. There are 10 bonus rounds, a save game feature, three difficulty settings and more.
System requirements call for Mac OS X or Mac OS 9, 333MHz or faster processor and 64MB RAM.
