Intelligent Media Consultants — a.k.a. Todd Fantz — on Tuesday released VidiSuite, which is described as a “work in progress” application suite aimed at television broadcasters. The software consists of several freeware applications and a commercial product.
The suite includes VidiScript, which is used for writing two-column scripts for television; VidiRundown, which composes show rundowns and keeps track of show times and totals, and VidiPrompter, a teleprompting application. All three applications can be downloaded now. As freeware apps they’re offered without support.
Also in development is VidiWireServer, which parses wire service feeds and stores them in MySQL, making them accessible to VidiScript. VidiDV is also available — it’s a commercial application that acts as a DV format-based video server.
