New developer Monkey Tools has introduced its first two professional audio applications: the audio file batch converter Sound Grinder and the asset management tool Library Monkey. 15-day demo versions of both applications are available for download from the Monkey Tools Web site.
Sound Grinder features the ability to drag-and-drop audio files for processing, saved presets, high sample rate support, speedy conversion, output support for WAV, AIFF QuickTime, AU, SD2 and SD2 dual mono file formats and more. System requirements call for Mac OS X v.10.2.x “Jaguar” and QuickTime 6.3 or higher. Sound Grinder is US$39.
Library Monkey allows you to import sound effects, music and other audio assets and catalog, manage and process them. It features a database structure complete with a search function, sets that organize assets by category, CD ripping with index support, saved presets and more. In addition, it offers the drag-and-drop batch conversion capabilities of Sound Grinder, complete with support for the same file formats. Library Monkey is a Carbon application that requires Mac OS X v.10.2.6 “Jaguar” or higher and QuickTime 6.3. In Mac OS 9.x, it requires QuickTime 6.0.3 or higher and 64MB RAM. Library Monkey is $399.
