{“Here’s a time-saving technique I use when creating Breen’s Bungalow, the QuickTime tutorial found on the CD bundled with newsstand copies of Macworld (and available to subscribers on the Web):
I take a lot of screenshots with Ambrosia Software’s “,”. I’ve configured Snapz so that when I capture a static image or movie, Snapz asks me to name the item. I number each item in the order in which it appears in the video — 01. GarageBand icon, 02. Timeline, for example — and save it in a folder with the rest of my captures.
I then launch iMovie, invoke the Import command, navigate to the folder that contains my captures, press Command-A to select all the images in that folder (yup, Command-A works in Open and Import dialog boxes but selects only individual files, no folders), and click Open. Because I’ve taken the trouble to number them, the files are imported into iMovie in the order in which they’ll appear.
Once the import is complete, I can once again select all of the images and clips and drag them into the timeline, where they appear in the order I desire.
