On Monday, I wrote about a problem I had importing mail rules when I upgraded from Entourage X to Entourage 2004, mistakenly assuming (yes, I know what that makes me) that Entourage wouldn’t carry old mail rules over to the new system.
Well, it seems there’s something wrong with my mail files. I heard from Microsoft yesterday, and most mail rules should import without a problem (Exchange server rules are the exception, as Dori noted on Monday). There was a note on MacInTouch today about someone else whose rules did not import properly, so I know I’m not alone on this one.
Overall, I like the changes and additions in Entourage 2004. The side preview pane is a better window on my mail, calendar printing is significantly improved, and I really like the Project Center, which integrated throughout Office 2004 (but isn’t restricted to Office-created documents).
I haven’t had much time to run through the new Junk Mail filter – I’ve been using Michael Tsai’s excellent Spam Sieve, and had turned off Entourage X’s filtering, but I will give it a try.
