Visual effects house The Orphanage, Inc., which worked on such recent films as “The Day After Tomorrow” and “Hellboy,” has announced the release of eLin, a suite of plug-ins and scripts for Adobe After Effects 6.5 that allows users to work with imagery in High Dynamic Range (HDR) color space, making the overall result look more realistic by addressing such issues as motion blur and depth of field. It includes support for industry-standard Cineon film scans and Industrial Light & Magic’s EXR file format.
The software is free to anyone who wants it for non-commercial use, while commercial users will pay US$495 per license, with multiple and site license discounts available. You can download eLin from the Red Giant Software Web site.
