Boston’s famous Berklee College of Music will take center stage at July’s Macworld Conference & Expo in Boston, Mass. Berklee students and faculty are designing and developing “Dream Studios,” an interactive exhibit showcasing the latest hardware and software used by Mac-based music producers. Three separate configurations will be presented — a mobile studio, an entry-level studio for home users, and a pro studio. All attendees of Macworld Conference & Expo will be able to take self-guided tours with the studios, participate in demonstrations and listen to presentations by Berklee faculty.
Also of interest to audio-minded Mac users is a two-day Power Tools Conference entitled, “The Macintosh Home Recording Studio for Musicians. Chaired by David Mash, vice president for information technology at Berklee College of Music, the conference will teach attendees how to build their own studio and record, mix, master and market their material.
What’s more, Berklee music students will be featured in the All-Mac Techno Rave Ensemble, demonstrating how Macs are used to make music with electronic, acoustic and Mac-based instruments. The performance takes place on the “Geeks & Gadgets” stage on Tuesday, July 13 at 2:30PM.
Macworld Conference & Expo is a production of IDG World Expo. Macworld, MacCentral and IDG World Expo are all owned by International Data Group (IDG).
