This week’s National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) 2004 trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada gave Apple a forum to introduce a slew of products aimed and professional video and cinema markets. Motion is Apple’s new text, graphics and animation package — a new competitor for Adobe After Effects. Final Cut Pro HD is a free update to Final Cut Pro 4 that offers HD editing capabilities using the DVCPRO HD format. DVD Studio Pro 3 has been announced. And Shake, Apple’s compositing and special effects tool, has been updated to version 3.5. Apple also introduced Xsan, a new storage area network (SAN) file system. In an interview after the event, Apple’s Rob Schoeben talks to MacCentral about the releases.
