Blades of Avernum editor updated
Spiderweb Software has updated its scenario editor for the recently released RPG Blades of Avernum to v1.0.1. The new update is available for download from the
Scenario Workshop Web page.
C&C G demo exhibits Radeon 9000 issues; patch expected
Aspyr Media’s recently released demo version of Command & Conquer Generals has show some problems on Macs equipped with graphics cards powered by ATI Radeon 9000 graphics chips. A patch is in order to correct the issue, so if you’ve had problems, you may want to wait until next week, when a fix is anticipated for release.
Dominions II updated to 2.11
Dominions II: The Ascension Wars, the turn-based strategy game from Shrapnel Games and Illwinter, has been updated to v2.11. The new release sports a number of gameplay balance updates, new bug fixes, and new commands. You can download the update from the
Web site now.
Enigma 2.2 released
Freeverse Software has released a minor update to
Enigma, their code-breaking game. The new version, 2.2, fixes issues with the registration system.
Primate Studios is working on an unusual-looking “action/adventure run and jump game” featuring hamsters, called Furballz. It’s currently in development for Mac and Windows.
Solitaire Till Dawn X 1.3 released
Semicolon Software has released v1.3 of their popular Solitaire Till Dawn X collection. The new version adds ten new games, allows using digital photos for game backgrounds, and introduces “Game Numbers” to recreate games from their original shuffle. It’s a free update.
Worms 3D goes gold
On Friday MacCentral brought you news that a playable demo of
Feral Interactive’s Worms 3D is now available for download from Macgamefiles. Also worthy of note is that Worms 3D has gone “gold master,” meaning it’s ready for duplication and should be on store shelves soon.

This week MacCentral brought readers news about the release of a
Worms 3D demo. Word came from GarageGames that
Dark Horizons: Lore, a mecha combat online action game, is now available. Aspyr Media released a
Command & Conquer: Generals demo last week, but make sure to check our note above if you’re using a Power Mac with a Radeon 9000 card, because you might run into problems. MacPlay finally announced plans to publish
Tron 2.0 for the Mac in May. New
ATI Radeon Utilities let you tweak the OpenGL settings of games, but the software is only intended for ATI’s retail Radeon cards — not the OEM cards included from the factory with some Apple systems.
