issued a free upgrade to its Webcam software
on Wednesday. Version 2.0 adds such new features as motion detection, Web page templates, QuickTime movie composition, a secure FTP connection and better support for camera drivers. The application now requires nothing more than a camera, such as Apple’s iSight, to host a Webcam page on the Internet.
ImageCaster’s new motion detection support allows you to capture images only when the application senses activity in the camera; motion sensors can be added to any part of the image. QuickTime movie composition allows you to turn a series of still images into a time-lapse video.
The full version of ImageCaster is US$30. A demo is available for download from the Econ Technologies Web site. System requirements call for Mac OS X v.10.2 “Jaguar” or higher.
