Ukrainian developer Computer Systems Odessa introduced ConceptDraw MINDMAP 3.0 on Thursday. The major upgrade to the company’s brainstorming tool adds an outline view that lets you easily switch between a map and its textual description, a new user interface designed to better facilitate mind mapping and performance enhancements that help the application work faster with large maps.
ConceptDraw MINDMAP uses the mind mapping technique invented by T. Buzan; it provides a technique for visualizing and organizing ideas and information, which in turn stimulates the brainstorming process. It was designed to help both individuals and teams engaged in business consulting, marketing, writing, software development and similar endeavors. Recipients of ConceptDraw MINDMAP files who don’t have the application can download a free viewer from the CS Odessa Web site.
System requirements call for Mac OS 9.2 or Mac OS X v.10.1.5 or higher. The Standard Edition, which is for personal use, is US$99 while the Professional Edition, which adds such features as support for multiple maps within a single document, is $149. Upgrades from earlier versions are $39 for Standard users and $49 for Professional users. Educational discounts are available.
