Axentra Corp. is the latest company to throw its hat in the ring with free e-mail and file storage capabilities. The company has announced its new axentra.net service, which offers users 25MB of online file sharing, e-mail and Web page storage at no cost.
Axentra.net’s e-mail accounts work with any POP3 or IMAP e-mail client software. The service also offers access through a Web browser interface where you can check e-mail, view an online calendar, access contact information, share photos, keep bookmarks and more. The free service is designed to showcase Axentra Corp.’s Linux-based e-mail, Web and file server appliance, which uses the same Web-based interface. Axentra sells its appliances to small office/home office users starting at US$399.
